Positions are available at headquarters, at various operational bases across the province, and sometimes even directly in the field.
Job Description
A communications assistant is responsible for compiling received information and producing reports based on that data. They also handle the reception and transmission of crucial information, providing essential logistical support to operations.
Key duties include assisting in wildfire detection by communicating with aircraft pilots, monitoring vehicle availability inventory, and updating various internal documents. The role may also involve managing public inquiries, data entry, and supporting managers in report production.
The communications assistant position is divided into three categories:

Requirements
To apply for a communications officer position, candidates must:
Hold a high school diploma (DES);
Be proficient in Microsoft Office;
Communicate clearly and effectively in French, both orally and in writing;
Be detail-oriented and methodical;
Manage large volumes of information efficiently;
Demonstrate strong stress management skills;
Work well in a team environment;
Be available for evening and weekend shifts, as needed;
Have a good knowledge of spoken and written English (an asset);
Hold a valid driver’s license (not required for headquarters employees).
This is a seasonal position. Employees work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with schedules varying based on operational needs and wildfire activity. Start and end dates vary by base (typically from early May to late September).
